Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at vtbiggametrophyclub@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

To enter by antler score or skull score, you must have the antlers or skull measured by one of our official measurers. Antlers and skulls must dry at room temperature for 60 days prior to measuring. There is an entry fee of $20.00 per entry. This fee contributes to our administrative costs of maintaining this website, photo gallery, office supplies, paper, ink, certificates, decals, patches, postage, etc. Contact us for a list of official measurers. vtbiggametrophyclub@gmail.com

All game is scored using the Boone and Crockett Club scoring system. We rank by gross score. Typical deer must score a minimum of 120 gross. Nontypical deer must score a minimum of 120 gross. Bear skulls must score a minimum of 18 0/16. Moose antlers must score a minimum of 155 gross. We have separate categories listed by weapon type (Firearm, Bow, Crossbow, Muzzleloader)

We only post photos of game that qualify for entry in our record book. See above for minimum scores. Photos may be emailed to:  vtbiggametrophyclub@gmail.com

Our goal is to publish a record book every five years. This is not guaranteed; this is our goal. Factors contributing to its publication date include number of entries received, finances, and available time to produce. Remember that our staff are all volunteers and are not paid for their efforts. Our books are very high quality and are very expensive to publish. The Third Edition cost nearly $40,000 to publish. We, therefore, need to have the finances available and need to be able to sell enough copies to recoup our investment.
